Helene Cornelius breaks her return to the Boston area for an evening of English Country Dancing in Madison on the third Monday of October! This informal evening of dance includes live music by the ----Wylmar Centre English Dance Consort :
Karen Cornelius (cello) played classical music for years until she fell in with the wrong crowd and started hanging out at coffee house Celtic gigs. She currently plays cello in the Madison based Celtic band, Keltori, and the Irish band, West Wind.
Mike Briggs (keyboard) has been class musician with the Madison Scottish Country Dancers for about 15 years, and with McDuff's Ceilidh Band, O’er the Border and the Wisconsin Ramblers has played for Scottish country dancing all over the upper M idwest. Mike has also provided music for English country dancing, as a member of the duo Poet and Peasant and for New England contra dancing.
Susan Conant (flute, recorders, and whistles) grew up steeped in dance music at Pinewoods Camp in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She received classical training at the New England Conservatory of Music and the Longy School of Music. She has played for numerous English, American, and Scottish dances and enjoys the relaxed, energetic atmosphere of dance music. As a member of the James Street Players, a classical chamber music quintet, Susan
performs concerts regularly throughout the Chicago area.
