contrailpollution.com Hi, my name is Mike LaRosa and I live in the Village of Linden in the southwest corner of Wisconsin, USA. I am in the process of developing a web page related to the issue of pollution from the condensation trails of jet traffic. I run my office and a large part of my home on photovoltaic electric power as well as some wind power. Since this conversion, I have noticed a significant reduction in panel output when the sky has a large quantity of "con trails". I am also somewhat of a sun worshiper and I try to catch a few rays whenever possible regardless the time of year. Sometimes on a Wisconsin January day, it might be 20° or so with calm winds and the sun shining. I would consider this the perfect time to catch some rays on the deck or in the back 40. Only problem is every time a contrail gets between me and the sun, the temperature will drop between 5 and 20 degrees for sometimes as long as 5 to 10 minutes until the trail passes over. I have noticed a similar drop in output on my photovoltaic panels. I've grown to realize that this could be of significance and is largely ignored by the public and government. Most people that bring up the issue are considered chem trail fanatics and the such. Hopefully over the course of this winter, I will find the time and be able to procure some actual data in regards to the impact that this is having on our lives as well as the potential impact on our use of solar energy. I would appreciate any positive feedback you might be able to offer or any information that might help. I hate to think that the only time in the last 40 years that I and the rest of us were actually able to see clear blue skies from horizon to horizon was the 5 or so days after the 9/11/2001 airline hijackings and the halting of commercial flights during that period. It made me realize that our children and theirs may never know what a real cirrus cloud is. My e-mail address is below.
Solar photovoltaic panel output reduced 5% to 10% by condensate trails and their residual clouds. Is this right ? I'm forced to subsidize the commercial jet traffic and related problems such as security through my tax dollars. Maybe I'm entitled to compensation for energy loss as a result ???
