MY Sailor Moon website was my very first attempt at designing webpages in 1995, and when I conceived my Sailor Jupiter page, I based it upon this facile, but appealing to me at the time, conceit, that Sailor Jupiter and I were this couple....like some dopey yet charming husband and wife....and....okay...SHUT-UP already..... I know....me and 5,000 other otaku fanboys....but forgive me, I was divorced at the time and....no....scratch that....I was still married to my soon to be ex second wife at the time....okay okay OKAY....still married when I became enamoured with Sailor Jupiter....divorced when I first designed the original webpage. Those two facts have absolutely nothing to do with each other. But I digress....

Anyway, I also came up with this cute little conceit that Sailor Jupiter was narrating the page. It would have recipes and all manner of cute stuff about my darling Mako-chan. But the original page went no further than two pictures of Mako-chan, and the following narration from Mako-chan....presented to the world in almost unreadable pink script on a wee bit brighter green background than the one you see here now. Anyway, here is Mako-chan in her own words:

"Welcome to my kitchen, which, of course, is currently being remodeled. But that doesn't stop me from cooking, because I love to cook. And I'm very good at at it! I suppose you want my famous creme-puff sundae recipe. Well...tee hee...I'm keeping that a secret for right now. My cremepuffs are very extra special. At least Maiko-chan, the Bartender seems to think so. :::blush::: He's soooo kawaii, when he... oh, never mind...!! Anyway, you can make a Creme Puff Sundae by simply mixing two creme puffs in a bowl with three scoops of french vanilla ice-creme. Let the ice creme melt over and around the creme puffs and then top with your favorite syrup. Mine is cherry pie filling (my own secret recipe and I'm not giving you THAT one either. :P ). And Maiko-chan's is sweet bean paste. :P Of course, it wont be quite as good as mine. But...I'm not going to give out my recipes right now. Gomen...gomen nasai..."

You get the general idea. Imagine the unreadability of that written in type like THIS!!!! It was even WORSE against the slightly brighter green background!!! Kowai!!      *slinks away quietly*

Hey Jupiter

The running joke with me back then went about thus:

I would ask my friends and otaku pals the following question: "How many naked pictures of Sailor Jupiter do I have?"

The astute and sensible among them would automatically reply: "All of 'em..."

It would be close to truth, but not quite. I'm sure back in those brave and terrible days that there were at least a few out there that had escaped my attention. It was hell of funny though, of course. Another facile conceit that verged upon truth.

Yet I was quite fascinated by Sailor Jupiter, and still am. Tall, reddish-brown hair, athletic, cute, likes to cook.....there's a LOT to desire there. Tough, guarded, yet a sweet and vulnerable personality resides within her. Very appealing to the imaginary idealism of the brave and the damned, and if NOT married, the single.

Now that I've redesigned this page, I might actually put up some recipes. And if ye dont care for the method of me and my darling Mako-chan's cooking, well.,..you'll at least have four more pictures to burn into your beating heart for the rest of your days on earth.

Also, I'll eventually scan some of my Sailor Moon dojinshi which features Mako-chan and me living out that brave and terrible conceit I devised in the context of yet another conceit that is even MORE devious.

I honestly believe in some remote way that Sailor Jupiter is as responsible for my love of Tori Amos as my dear, yet long lost friend Francesca Reyes is. Francesca, where are you now!! Anyway....yes, it was Francesca who got me going on Tori Amos.... And the delightful conceit (or WAS it actually a conceit....I sometimes wonder about that) that WE shared ....,that Francesca and I were Emma Peel and John Steed....was equal if not better than the conceit of me and Mako-chan as a couple.... yes....it"s TRUTH as my big NASCAR buddy Jeff Graf would loudly and grandly proclaim. Steed and Mrs. Peel....and the soon to be ex second wife never was the wiser, which explains much, I guess.....

And even though Hey Jupiter is truly a girl's song....Tori Amos always touched the tender heart of truth and making it my boy song still rings true. Longing and seperation....it's the heart of it....the heart of me...the heart of Sailor Jupiter.... It all comes together....all bound up in truth....

When I discovered Sailor Jupiter, I found her writing not only on my on my wall, but etched into my heart. And my apocalypse, and Sailor Jupiter's apocalypse, and my apocalypse with Sailor Jupiter was really really fab.

Coming soon, more information about my darling Sailor Jupiter. So...why don't y'all run along back to The Bar & Grill. Mako-chan and I have a bit of cooking to do...*wink* *wink*
