Lafarga: A Sailor Neptune Kind Of Guy
I have never been one to belabor y'all with the facts, per se, when a rousing tale of their pursuit and capture is far more pertinent and, perhaps, interesting. This is yet another example of my gadfly approach to certain anime. What I mean by that is that I usually present more rhetoric about what anime means to my life, such as it is, or how I imagine it to be, than I do about the anime itself. The facts are a constant, and you can find a million Sailor Moon pages elsewhere with the facts. More facts about Sailor Neptune, such as her name, Kaioh Michiru, and all her transformations, attacks, hobbies, her talisman and the other two talismans, plus rumours of her lovelife with Sailor Uranus, than there is bandwidth in the universe. That sort of information is amok on the Wired. What I present to you here is a more askew version of those facts based upon those facts. A fan's notes, if the late Mr. Exley will pardon my sincerest form of flattery. Consider me more of a columnist than a beat reporter.
With that thought in mind, I must admit that I'm more of a camp follower than a pioneer when it comes to Sailor Neptune. The Sailor Moon of my youth is more based upon the Inner Senshi.....Moon, Mercury, Jupiter....and so on. When it comes to the Outer Senshi, Sailor Pluto has always been first on my list. But....I must admit that Sailor Neptune has been growing on me if for no other reason than through the process of producing this page.
Which reminds me.......this Neptune Room was once not what it is now. What is was once is lost, but the promo in The Bar & Grill hints at it: This is, of course, your Maitre d' Lafarga's favourite room. The food and atmosphere is mysteriously eclectic. For example, Chibi-Usa is the barmaid. Also, it is rumoured that certain facts about Sailor Moon's secret partner in this venture, and architect of this fine establishment, are contained within.
Well....the conceit there was that the page would be a biography page, in some arcane 1995ish sort of way. There was a very frightening and funny(to me at the time----my first encounter with the phenomenon and fanaticism of cosplay outside of SF fandom or SCA) picture of two Japanese humans in these very odd Sailor Neptune and Chibi-Usa getups. I fancied. I suppose that somehow the picture revealed some truth about me. Well....I'm begging the question I suppose.
As I was saying, I've become sort of a Sailor Neptune kind of guy. Pluto still is tops on my list....she has more grace than Neptune and more elegance than Uranus. But Neptune is pretty cool. Not that I'm gonna get a sex-change operation anytime soon, but she's far more charming and attractive than Sailor Uranus....who I used to like a lot more....I thought she was pretty hot at one time.....well okay, she's still hot, but she's not very nice to be I wouldnt think, although Michiru seems to think so....but I would rather be with Michiru than Haruka....but I'm NOT getting the sex-change op....anyway, I USED to be more attracted to Sailor Uranus and was always and still am all in favour of and a staunch defender of lesbian and gay relationships....all right, not particularly in favour of, but a staunch defender of. But no sex-change. Wait!! Hold it!! I'm....I'm getting a SECRET MESSAGE from Leon Russell and David Crosby!
